OSTRAVSKE DERBY

THE BIGGEST EVENT OF THE WINTER SEMESTER

The ice hockey derby of Ostrava has become a traditional project which was established by students from University of Ostrava and VSB Technical University of Ostrava.

Selected team of students from University of Ostrava and VSB Technical university of Ostrava compete against each other in this ice hockey game. This year, 2019, will be the seventh year in a row, so it has become an annual event and hopefully it will stay this way for many more years. The biggest record in the number of visitors was last year when 8198 visited the Ostravar Arena. University of Ostrava was the one who won last year’s intense game. Besides a very attractive hockey face off, the derby had offered the fans and visitors also some great entertainment and interesting side events during the breaks. The project Ostravske Derby is sponsored by the rector of the University of Ostrava, prof. MUDr. Jana Lata, CSc. and the rector of VSB Technical University of Ostrava prof. RNDr. Vaclav Snasel, CSc.

The game will be in Ostravar Arena again and we’re expecting even bigger amount of visitors, so do not hesitate with buying tickets, because they are selling out fast. We just began selling the third wave which is being sold for 140,-. You can buy them online at www.ostravskederby.cz or you can come buy them on October 22nd in Forum Nova Karolina along with merch of your university or on October 23rd on the ground of VSB-TUO. The most important date however, is October 30th, the day of the game! The puck drops at 6pm, so don’t be late. Another big change is year is a brand new afterparty. It will be in Brickhouse located in DOV. There is a limited amount of tickets and they cost only 50,-. You can buy them with the tickets. Hurry up before they sell out! There is only a few left!
